Starting from Crete in early May, we plan to explore the Cyclades until the Meltemi kicks in. Then at the end of June we'll make our way close to Athens to leave the boat in August ready to Jet off to our daughter's wedding. We will return in September and, return to Crete - circumnavigating if the weather permits - returning to Agios Nikolaos for the winter.

Here we are again

Well here is the end of another winter in Agios Nikolaos Marina in Crete. How time flies!
Life had been pretty smooth until we had Rosa lifted out of the water for her annual maintenance. Unfortunately, the lift driver failed to look up and trapped the wind generator under the cross bar of the travel hoist and then kept on lifting. Nobody noticed until one of the blades shattered by which time our lovely gantry was well and truly bent.
He took 5 days to get around to removing the gantry and while we twiddle our fingers on the hard trying to find jobs to do, he has made no obvious progress in bending it all back into shape. Each day for the past 4, he has promised it tomorrow and each day nothing has happened. The Greek for tomorrow is Avrio - which apparently means the same as Manyana but without the Spanish sense of urgency.
Tomorrow (English tomorrow that is), I plan to throw a hissy fit and possibly lie in front of his crane until he gives us some attention.
The parts for the wind generator arrive tomorrow so in theory we could be all fixed by next weekend - but we're not holding our breath.
